Proposition: In Romans 9:14-18, God displays that His sovereign selectivity in bestowing mercy upon some, and not upon others, is to the praise of His glory rather than the questioning of His character.
The Wrong Concluding Question: Then, has God unfairly withheld mercy? (v. 14a)
A Strong Correction: Not possible! (v. 14b)
Explanation 1: The Word to Moses - God’s mercy is not dependent upon the acts of men (vv. 15-16)
Explanation 2: The Word to Pharaoh - God extends mercy as He wills (vv. 17-18)
