Proposition: In Romans 12:3-8, Paul tells us that there are three essential elements for faithful service in the body of Christ.

1. The Essential Attitude: Humility (v. 3)
   a. Remember God’s Grace (v. 3a)
   b. Think of Yourself Rightly (v. 3b)
   c. Remember that the Extent of your Ministry Comes from God (v. 3c)

2. The Essential Relationship: Members of Christ’s Body (v. 4-5)
   a. We are one body – many members. (v. 4)
   b. We are one body – in Christ. (v. 5b)
   c. We are one body – members of each other. (v. 5)

3. The Essential Service: Exercising our Gifts (vv. 6-8)
   a. Prophesy (v. 6b)
   b. Service (v. 7a)
   c. Teaching (v. 7b)
   d. Exhortation (v. 8a)
   e. Giving (v. 8b)
   f. Leadership (v. 8c)
   g. Mercy (v. 8d)
