INTRODUCTION:

MAIN IDEA: Psalm 31 relays two cycles of physical salvation to encourage saints to trust the LORD both for this life and the afterlife.

1. God Delivers the Distressed (vv. 1–8)

   a. Distressed? Petition God! (vv. 1–2)

   b. Distressed? Declare God’s Truth! (vv. 3–5)

   c. Distressed? Remember God’s Presence and Rejoice! (vv. 6–8)

2. God Rescues the Rejected (vv. 9–24)

   a. Rejected? Implore God! (vv. 9–13)

   b. Rejected? Pray God’s Promises! (vv. 14–18)

   c. Rejected? Recall God’s Perfections and Recalibrate! (vv. 19–24)
